CORTEXIL

Stromal vascular fraction

CORTEXIL SVF

A single-use kit for preparing stromal vascular fraction from a small sample of the patient’s own fat, and for enriching a lipofiller.

What SVF is

A cellular mix taken from subcutaneous fat. Cortexil lists mesenchymal multipotent stromal cells, macrophages, lymphocytes, pericytes, endothelial and smooth-muscle cells, fibroblasts, and other components.

The effect does not sit in the stem cells alone. It sits in their surroundings: exosomes, cytokines, growth factors, fragments of the extracellular matrix, and the stem-cell secretome. Cortexil says that secretome is what starts repair, new vessels, and immune modulation. Cortexil SVF is described as keeping that cellular environment, so the stromal cells come out with their secretome.

What it is for

Joints and soft tissue

Chronic and degenerative problems of joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscle. Used to support healing and tissue nutrition.

Lipofilling and skin

The fat graft is enriched with SVF so more of it takes. In aesthetics this preparation is also called nanofat. Also used on scars.

Gynecology

Pelvic-floor support, endometrium, tissue after childbirth, and aesthetic gynecology.

Sport and recovery

After load, injury, and procedures.

Three conditions for an effective SVF

Dehydration and delipidization

Residual fluid and triglycerides have to come out.

Fragment size

Fragments of about 250 µm. Smaller pieces damage more cells. Larger pieces are harder for the tissue to use.

Gentle spin

A swing-bucket rotor, smooth acceleration and braking, not above 700 g, so the cells stay viable. That machine is the Cortexil centrifuge.

What the kit contains

  • 50 mL vacuum aspiration syringe with a lock
  • Single-use liposuction cannula
  • Fragmentation system
  • Cortexil 10 mL syringe-tubes
  • Connectors and caps
  • Syringes for centrifugation

Each part is single-use, sterile, and meant to be handled once. The pack is described as protecting sterility and simplifying the sequence in the operating room. Every step, from liposuction to injection, is set out in a fixed order.

Next-generation lipofiller

Three aims: graft survival, a lasting revitalising effect, and a predictable result.

Ordinary lipofilling can lose up to 70% of its volume when the fat is poorly prepared and poorly supplied with blood. The Cortexil sequence works on that in four steps.

Preparation

Residual fluid is removed by dehydrating and delipidizing the lipoaspirate.

SVF enrichment

Adding SVF is described as speeding graft take and reducing necrosis.

Injection

Micro-bolus injection through several channels, for better vascularisation.

Later effect

The filler holds shape and volume and stimulates fibroblasts. Microcirculation, skin structure, and tissue density improve over 6–8 months.
